Releasing live bait threatens our environment. Minnows, Leeches, Worms, and bait water can harbor diseases and aquatic invasive species. Here is what you should do about it:
Minnows
TOSS IT
Drain Water from bait container on shore, away from water. Dispose of minnows in the compost or trash.
KEEP IT
Drain Water from bait container on shore, away from water. Refill container with bottle or tap water.
Worms
TOSS IT
Dispose of worms in the trash.
Leeches
TOSS IT
Dispose of leeches in the trash.
