Existing wetlands in northern Louisiana received greatly needed help thanks to support from Wildlife Forever. Habitat was enhanced or restored by the installation of 125 water control structures on 73 different sites. Pipes and water-control devices were installed at locations in 18 parishes across much of northern Louisiana. The new wetlands are serving numerous waterfowl visiting or wintering in the area. In addition, to the habitat enhanced under this project, technical assistance regarding wetland management was provided on nearly 12,000 additional acres in the region.
