 Alabama Goose Restoration Project
GOOSE RESTORATION

Wildlife Forever and Waterfowl USA joined forces for a goose restoration project that brought 120 Canada geese from Barbour County to Escambia County, Alabama, where no geese had been seen before. The Alabama Game and Fish Department trapped and tagged 120 nuisance geese from Lake Eufaula and the Brewton Chapter of Waterfowl USA moved the geese to Escambia County. Ten landowners planted food, provided nesting cover, and built predator control barriers for the relocated Canada geese.
 Watching Wildlife at Tsinia
WILDLIFE WATCHING AT TSINIA

An innovative,
self-guided interpretive trail at the Tsinia Wildlife Viewing Area in Alabama’s Tuskegee National Forest provides an opportunity for the public and students to learn about wildlife, habitat, and their importance to the ecosystem. Brochures, maps, and signs guide visitors through the trail --educating and informing them about the interrelationships of a whole spectrum of wildlife, habitats, and their importance. A variety of wildlife is represented at the Viewing Area, including songbirds, waterfowl, deer, and beaver. Wildlife Forever and the U.S. Forest Service have contributed to this project.
FLINT CREEK GETS IMPROVED FISH HABITAT
FLINT CREEK GETS IMPROVED FISH HABITAT

Your support allowed Wildlife Forever to join forces with the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge in Alabama to restore fish habitat in Flint Creek, a tributary of the mighty Tennessee River. The project was designed to provide critical habitat for the creek’s bass, crappies, bluegills and catfish thus providing improved fishing opportunities for disabled anglers. Fish habitat structures made up of riprap and wooden pallets were placed adjacent to a handicapped-accessible fishing pier on the creek. See your donations in action. If you find yourself traveling down Interstate 65 around Decatur, Alabama take exit 334 and travel west on Highway 67 for about two miles. Like most National Wildlife Refuges, it is public property available for hunting, fishing and many other outdoor recreational activities.
