EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR
"I would like to thank Triarco for sponsoring this award
for Wildlife Forever. The kids and I in
5th/6th Grade classroom send out a huge thank you to
Triarco and Wildlife Forever." - Joe
Grades 5 & 6
Condon Elementary School
Joe has been a mainstay
in the State-Fish Art Contest
since the very beginning ... almost 18 years ago!
In the last 18 years of teaching Mr. Colby has introduced many environmental education studies to Condon students. He has been relentless in finding resources in people and projects to introduce and explore the natural world around us and relate it to what is experienced in the classroom.
He will share a few programs that his students have participated in over the last 18 years on his "Thoughts" page.
Using a variety of local, regional and state resources he has been able to instill an appreciation for rivers and waterways and their eco-systems with his classes through experiential hands-on educational and artistic projects in and outside of the classroom.Thank you Joe
"I would like to thank
Wildlife Forever for this tremendous honor.
To be mentioned as an
is an exciting accomplishment,
but made even more special when you are
recognized for something you take great pride in…
Teaching and learning
the outdoors and conservation is the inspiration
I first went into education for
and it is the driving force still today as to why I stay in education.
The curriculum and awards
that Wildlife Forever provides
youth in every state to be
recognized for work
they have done in art
As a teacher this is an
art project that can stretch
across the grade levels.
Every grade that I have taught
we have implemented
this fantastic program.
