
Meet Winning Duck Stamp Artists
Reception is Open to the Public
Mark your calendars and save the date for the first ever celebration honoring winners of the Federal Duck Stamp contest. The event is being held at the Bloomington Art Center on October 15th from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Wildlife Forever’s “Meet the Artists Night” is one of the premier events of the Federal Duck Stamp judging being held in Bloomington, Minnesota. Enjoy gourmet hors d’oeuvres while rubbing elbows with winning artists of past competitions and this year’s hopefuls.
Current winning Federal Duck Stamp artist, Joe Hautman will chair the evening’s events. Joe, a noted Minnesota wildlife artist, is a three-time Contest winner. Additional past Federal Duck Stamp artists will also be in attendance.
The artwork exhibit of the nearly 300 competing images from this year’s judging will be on display for everyone to view. Past winners will be recognized in a brief ceremony and limited edition signature cards will be available to gather autographs from artists.
The Bloomington Art Center is located at 1800 W Old Shakopee Rd in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Tickets are $35 per person in advance and $40 at the door. Proceeds from the event will benefit local wetlands conservation efforts. Advance tickets can be purchased by calling Wildlife Forever at: 763-253-0222.
ABOUT THE DUCK STAMP
The Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp, or "Duck Stamp," is the cornerstone of one of the world's most successful conservation programs. Each year, the contest for the next year’s stamp design draws hundreds of elite wildlife artists. The winning design for the 2009-2010 stamp will be chosen at the Bloomington Center for the Arts, West Old Shakopee Rd., Bloomington, Minn., on October 17 and 18.
